Chorale21

Welcome to Chorale21, a choir founded in mid-Somerset in 2025 and going from strength to strength. Our aim is to bridge the gap between large-scale choirs of a hundred-plus voices and smaller, a cappella groups. If you are an experienced singer who relishes the challenge of learning and performing a variety of music ranging from Renaissance and Baroque classics to contemporary pieces by the likes of Eric Whitacre and Ola Gjeilo, do get in touch. The choir is currently full, but singers are most welcome to join the waiting list by completing the Contact form. Rehearsals are held at the Methodist Church in Glastonbury on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9pm and auditions will be held at the beginning of the autumn term.

Our Music Director

Matthew Redman is Director of Music at St John’s Glastonbury, often plays the organ at Wells Cathedral and is well known as a choral conductor. His rehearsals are animated, ground in solid musical understanding, yet fun and uplifting. A busy freelance teacher, accompanist, examiner and workshop leader, Matthew brings out the best in any choir.

Our Accompanist

We are very fortunate to have the award-winning composer, musician and children's author, Nicholas O'Neill, accompany us at Come & Sing events and concerts. Nick's achievements are too extensive to summarise here, so do visit his website: http://www.nicholasoneill.com/
